PBC Linear offers sophisticated actuator technology in a range of sizes and drive mechanisms to fit any application. The video below offers an introduction to one family of belt-driven linear actuators, the MTB series. This product line consists of three standard sizes, MTB042, MTB055, and MTB080, with each one bringing its unique solution to medium or large applications such as lab automation and Cartesian systems. Join one of our resident engineers as he details the dimensions and strengths of each of these robust machines.
To begin, each of these three MTB versions share common characteristics, including a high performance urethane belt drive contained within a fully enclosed outer body. This enclosure allows these actuators to work effectively and efficiently in applications where resistance to environmental particulates is vital to optimal performance and long life. In addition, all three actuators are equipped with stainless steel band-strip seals on the top of the unit, with magnetic strips to keep the seal tight, further keeping contaminates out of the unit.
For a quick reference and comparison on each MTB actuator, we have created an outlined below regarding their dimensions, thrust capacity, stroke length, and belt size. For all three actuators, peak speed capabilities are consistent at 3 meters/second (118.11 inches/second).
