PBC Linear combines a standard Simplicity® Linear Plain Bearing with a self-aligning housing to create our self-lubricating Pillow Block Bearing. Pillow Block Bearings are composed of a bearing that is nested in a mounting block. This allows the bearing to support a rotating shaft while also providing critical mounting support.
The standard offering consists of a bearing with an aluminum outer shell and a FrelonGOLD® bearing liner, but stainless-steel housings and Frelon® J and Frelon® W liners are also options. The Pillow Block is vibration dampening and is well suited for a wide temperature range of -400°F/ 400°F (-240°C/ 204°C). Machined to tighter tolerances than industry standards, PBC Linear Pillow Blocks offer better accuracy in your linear motion applications.

Simplicity linear bearings can operate in any orientation. Load capacities will vary on open bearings depending on the orientation in which they are being used.
Standard pillow blocks have 1/2° misalignment from the centerline. This feature is built into the housing with a spherical radius at the midpoint of the block. The self-aligning capability allows for some shaft deflection and misalignment.
Rigid or straight bore housings, which are typically used in single shaft applications, are also available. This does not allow for any self-alignment and provides a very rigid assembly.
